Central Scotland Smallholders’ Association was established in January 2008
with the aims of:
- serving the needs and interests of existing and aspiring smallholders, whether smallholding is pursued as a lifestyle or as a business.
- promoting and supporting sustainable land use
- promoting and supporting high standards of animal welfare
- contributing to relevant local and national consultations, representing the views of members and promoting their interests.
Membership
We are open to anyone, but meetings are generally held in Stirling or Alloa. The annual subscription is £10 per member for 2011 (January to December). A small charge may also be made for some visits. A membership form can be downloaded from this site.
We currently have members throughout Central Scotland and are very happy to welcome new members at any time. Some members are experienced smallholders, while others are new to smallholding, but everyone’s contribution is welcomed and appreciated.
Social Meetings For Members
Our Social Meetings are generally held in Clackmannan or Stirling. They are open to non-members. Our business is done in committee meetings. We are currently working on a programme of events for 2012! As events take place, reports are added to the website.
The Association is constituted, and minutes are kept of committee meetings where our business is done. We have an AGM every winter.
The Association may attends local agricultural shows and events to raise funds and awareness.
CSSA encourages visits to members smallholdings as well to other places of interest. Why re-invent the wheel? Learn from others mistakes and get some useful hints and tips for your own place. This is a good way to meet other smallholders and get out and about!
If you have been somewhere interesting lately, or would like to host a visit. Please get in touch.
