Central Scotland Smallholders' Association was established in January 2008 with the aims of:

  • serving the needs and interests of existing and aspiring smallholders, whether smallholding is pursued as a lifestyle or as a business.
  • promoting and supporting sustainable land use
  • promoting and supporting high standards of animal welfare
  • contributing to relevant local and national consultations, representing the views of members and promoting their interests.

Membership is open to anyone, but meetings are generally held in Stirling or Alloa. The annual subscription is £10 per member for 2009 (January to December). A small charge may also be made for some visits. A membership form can be downloaded from this site.

We currently have members throughout Central Scotland and are very happy to welcome new members at any time. Some members are experienced smallholders, while others are new to smallholding, but everyone's contribution is welcomed and appreciated.

A programme of events for 2009 has been drafted, comprising six monthly meetings over the winter months, each with a guest speaker on a topic of interest to members, and a series of visits and social events over the summer months.

As events take place, reports are added to the website.

We are also working with Oatridge College to develop training events on relevant topics.
